Jamichael Winston talks OL/DL camp

Jamichael Winston, defensive end from Prichard-Vigor, Ala., attended his second Alabama camp of the summer this past weekend. He recently added a new offer from the Big 10. Andrew Bone talked with the class of 2012 prospect about the latest news..

"The last camp I attended was the Alabama OL/DL camp this past weekend," said Jamichael Winston. "I worked at 'Jack' linebacker at their first camp. This camp I worked at defensive end.

"I feel like I did good out there. I worked with coach Rumph and coach Sal. They were teaching me a lot of techniques and things like that. We did one-on-one drills. It was a good time.

"I liked the camp a lot. I feel like it helped me. I learned some new moves out there. I enjoyed working out with the coaches. It was intense. Coach Sal has all that NFL experience. Coach Rumph knows a lot. When you put those two together, boy oh boy."

Winston missed his junior season due to injury, but the 6-foot-6, 230-pound prospect has received plenty of attention. He has several scholarship offers including Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Memphis, Michigan State, Mississippi State, South Florida, Southern Miss and Syracuse.

"I have either 14 or 15 offers now," he said. "The last offer is from Michigan State. I like the offer from them. I was in the mind frame they don't recruit players down south. I was shocked. I hadn't really heard anything from them. I plan on taking a visit, but I am not sure when."

Winston does not list any favorites and hopes to make a decision before the season.
