Time-frame for decision

Will Redmond, three-star cornerback from Memphis-East, Tenn., has been a standout performer at summer camps. He has several scholarship offers, but one school is hot on his radar.

"I am going to make my way to Alabama's camp in July," said Will Redmond. "Alabama hasn't officially offered me yet. Coach Groh said I pretty much have an offer. He said Nick Saban wants to work with me and offer me in person. I am going down there to show them what I can do.

"It would be great to get an official offer from Alabama. I feel like I have been standing out at all the camps I have attended. It would be great to get an offer from one of the top, if not the top program in the country."

Redmond is a terrific athlete who passed for 1,856 yards and rushed for 1,852 yards during the 2010 season. He transferred from Manassas High School to East for his senior season joining forces with the state's top player, Brian Kimbrow.

The 6-foot, 180-pound athlete is recruited as a defensive back. Redmond is not bashful about his feelings for the Tide.

"Alabama is a powerhouse," he said. "When people think about Alabama they know it's not going to be an easy game. Alabama has swagger. When you play them you have to bring your A-game.

"They would definitely make a move as one of my top schools if they decide to offer. Right now the plan is to announce my decision in August. I feel like I have enough time to get that offer and then make my decision."

Redmond has visited several schools this summer including Clemson, North Carolina, Miami, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Memphis and FAU. He hopes to return to Clemson and North Carolina for visits in July.
