Top Peach State LB commits to Alabama

Alabama lands future 2013 five-star linebacker on Monday.

"I have committed to Alabama," Reuben Foster told Scout.com earlier this afternoon.

"I chose Alabama because of the tradition they have, and it is like family there. They have a lot of National Championships, and that is what I want to play for. I also like how they put a lot of linebackers in the NFL because that is where I want to play."

Foster, 6-foot-1, 228-pounds from Troup County High School in LaGrange, Ga., projects to rank as one of the top prospects in the country by the various media outlets. His scholarship offers are numerous with the mindset of the elite athlete wanting to play for a school and a head coach who prepares a player as a well-rounded individual.

"I know playing for a coach like Nick Saban that I will be taken care of," Foster continued with Scout.com. "Coach Saban not only teaches football, but he teaches his players about life. My family wants me to play for a man like that."

Foster had 120 tackles as a 16-year old sophomore in 2010 as one of the leaders of the defense. The Tide was a favorite very early in the process and secured his verbal pledge to jumpstart the University of Alabama's final camp of the season.
