O.J. Howard in action

O.J. Howard, from Autauga Academy in Prattville, Ala., committed to the University of Alabama on Monday. He was familiar with the Tide's campus after attending games in the fall, visiting in the spring and camped in Tuscaloosa twice this summer.

The 6-foot-5, 220-pound recruit was a showstopper in camps in Tuscaloosa and Auburn. Many who were in attendance noted Howard as one of the most impressive players on the field regardless of position. The Alabama coaching staff gave the class of 2013 prospect early attention, and it paid off in a big way Monday when he committed to the Tide.

O.J. Howard is an athlete who can play multiple positions. Talented prospects who play in a small school usually plays all across the field. Howard lines up at running back, receiver, tight end, linebacker, defensive end and return kicks. He prefers offense and a vertical threat with his speed and hands.

Howard has great ability and potential at outside linebacker. He runs really well and does a great job reading the offense. He has two years remaining in high school to develop even more before he lands on the Tide's campus.
