Beniquez Brown back from Tuscaloosa

Beniquez Brown, four-star outside linebacker from Florence, Ala., camped in Tuscaloosa this week. Andrew Bone talked with the elite prospect about his trip to Alabama.

"I really didn't work out that much," said Beniquez Brown. "I worked out on Sunday and Monday morning. I just watched the rest of hte time. I met with coach Saban this morning before I left.

"The trip went really good. I liked how the coaches were out there working out with us. They were going through the reps before we did anything. I really enjoyed hanging out with some of the players. That was pretty good."

The Alabama coaches wanted to see Brown in action on the defensive side of the ball.

"The coaches have seen me run before, but they have never seen me work out at safety. They said I did good. They liked how I was working out. Every camp I attend I work out at safety. I want to be ready if I play the position in college.

"I worked out with coach Pruitt. He was pretty serious. He wants to make sure you know what you are doing. He kept you in place and made you sure you were doing the right thing. He was telling me good job and told me I did good at safety."

Brown spoke with Nick Saban before leaving Tuscaloosa.

"Coach Saban said I did real good in all my drills," said Brown "He told to take my time with my decision. That was about it. We basically just had a conversation. I have been there so many times. We have discussed everything before."

The Tide remains in the lead for Brown's signature.

"Alabama is still No. 1," he said. "I would like to make my decision before my senior season. If I don't decide I will probably wait until signing day."
