Darius Philon de-commits
"I shouldn't have committed early," Darius Philon told the Press-Register in Mobile. "Basically, I was just rushing things and being hard-headed."
Philon appeared unsteady about his commitment to Auburn after he received an offer from Alabama at the Tide's OL/DL camp in late June.
"The Auburn coaches were shocked I went up there, but that doesn't really matter to me," Philon said following his visit to Tuscaloosa in June. "I plan on going back to Alabama this fall. I also plan on taking an official visit there."
Philon is rated No. 16 in the state in Bone's Best players in Alabama. He plans to wait until after his senior season to make a final decision.
"Right now I am focusing on my grades," Philon said earlier this summer. "If I don't pass my classes my college decision won't matter. That's the important thing for me right now. I am going to put everything else aside. I just want to focus on my grades and help my team win a state championship."
