Denzel Devall visits Alabama

Denzel Devall, four-star defensive end from Bastop, La., took an unofficial visit with this parents to the University of Alabama. Devall is a physically-mature prospect who may have a chance to play early on the next level. Devall talked with Andrew Bone about his trip.

"It went pretty good," said Denzel Devall about his visit to the Capstone. "I watched practice yesterday. We left today. I went up there with my mom, dad and little brother.

"We basically just went to practice yesterday. We watched them practice and then talked to the coaches. We chilled and relaxed up there.

"The practice was pretty nice. I was used to everything they do. My head coach my freshman and sophomore year ran practice the way Alabama runs their practice. It was like déjà vu. It wasn't anything new to me.

"I was watching all the linebackers. Alabama is recruiting me for all four linebacker positions. They don't know which one they want me to play. I don't have a preference. I just want to get on the field."

Devall and his parents spent time talking with the Tide's head coach about the different aspects of the Alabama program.

"My parents and I talked to coach Saban," said Devall. "He was just telling them what he had told me before. He talked about school. He told me and them out of all the linbackers they are recruiting that I have a great chance to play early.

"My parents really liked it a lot. They had a great time on the visit. My mom has always been a big fan of coach Saban. She was really happy to meet him in person."

Devall doesn't have a time-frame for a decision.

"Whenever it happens it happens," he said of his commitment. "I don't have a date or time. It's still pretty much equal between Alabama and Texas A&M. Neither school has pressed me for a commitment. They tell me they want me.

"I have always been a big fan of Nick Saban. Whatever team he coached I was a big fan. I have always liked the conference [SEC]. Alabama is a great place to be."
