James Cox talks SEC camp

James Cox, wide receiver from Tuscaloosa-Northridge, Ala., projects as one of the top in-state 2013 prospects. Cox has already landed one SEC offer and receiving a lot of interest. Andrew Bone has the latest update.

"I still just have the offer from Mississippi State," said James Cox. "I have been talking to Alabama. Coach Saban wants me to bring my family over there for a visit before the season starts.

"I plan on going back over there pretty soon. They want to talk about everything with my parents. I know I will be at all of the Alabama home games this year."

Cox competed in the Tide's final summer camp.

"I went over to their camp a couple weeks ago," he said. "I just went for one day. I did great. I had a great 7-on-7. I got to work with Cris Carter. He shows you stuff you don't see on TV. He shows you the little things that make a big difference.

"I talked to coach Mac [Jim McElwain] most of the time. I also spoke to coach Cochran, coach Burns and coach Saban. They showed me around. Coach Mac said he likes me a lot. They want me to keep working hard."

Cox is eager to snag an offer from the home-town program.

"I am liking Alabama a lot right now," said Cox. "Who doesn't like Alabama right now. Coach Saban has established them as a national powerhouse. It's great to know they are recruiting you."
