Rod Crayton visits Alabama

Rod Crayton, defensive tackle from Dadeville, Ala., is one of the premier 2013 recruits in the state. Crayton has received interest from across the country and visited an SEC school this past weekend. He names early favorites.

"I went down to the Bama game on Saturday," said Rod Crayton. "The visit to Alabama was fun. I liked it a lot. The defense played a good game overall.

"I really like how they run their defense. They move the nose guard around a lot. Dont'a Hightower looked real good. They have a mean pass rush.

"I spoke to coach Smart, coach Saban and the athletic director. They were telling me they liked my film a lot. They like how I run down the field and chase people. They like my size."

Crayton has interest in the in-state school.

"I like the atmosphere around there," he said. "I like the coaches. I like how the players play. I know they are getting coached by good coaches."

Crayton plans to attend the Mississippi State/LSU game next Thursday night in Starkville. The Bulldogs are an early favorite.

"My favorites right now are Mississippi State and Ole Miss," said Crayton. "I like the Mississippi State coaching staff a lot. I like their campus. I can tell they really want me there. The coaches show me a lot of love. They are constantly talking to coach Harrison.

"I like Ole Miss a lot as well. They are pretty much doing the same thing as Mississippi State. They call coach Harrison a lot."

Crayton is receiving mail from Alabama, Michigan, Oregon and Western Kentucky.

Crayton has helped lead his team to a 2-0 record. He recorded 10 total tackles last week in a win against Childersburg.
