James Cox visits Alabama

James Cox, wide receiver from Tuscaloosa-Northridge, Ala., has helped his team start off to an undefeated season. He watched another undefeated team perform at Bryant-Denny Stadium with the Tide's win against Arkansas.

"I went to the Alabama/Arkansas game," said James Cox. "The visit was nice. They treated me like family. I had a great time."

"Alabama's defense really stepped up to play ball. The offense was explosive. I was real surprised by Dre Kirkpatrick. I liked his intensity out there.

"I talked to coach Mac [Jim McElwin], coach Cochran and coach Sunseri. They told me to keep working hard. They want me to keep coming back to the games each week."

The hometown school is making a strong impression on the local prospect.

"Alabama is a great possibility for me," said Cox. "I like their strength and conditioning program. Coach Cochran gets you big. I like the pro-style offense. It helps get you prepared for the NFL. Coach Saban knows how to get you ready for the next level."

Other schools showing interest include Auburn, Florida State, LSU, Mississippi State and Tennessee.

Cox has helped lead Northridge to a 5-0 record and will play at Gardendale Friday night.
