Geno Smith talks Tide win

Geno Smith, National 100 cornerback from Atlanta-St. Pius X, Ga., was one of many Tide commitments who predicted an easy win Saturday night in Gainesville. Smith talked about the game, and when he plans to take his first visit of the season to Tuscaloosa.

"I kind of predicted the score," said Geno Smith. "I said it was going to be 31-10 Alabama. I thought Trent would have a big game, and he did.

"It makes you feel good knowing your team is doing well. They go on the road and do well. They don't choke. I know I am coming in to a winning program."

Smith hasn't been to any games at Bryant-Denny Stadium this year, but Alabama has watched him in action.

"I haven't been down there yet," Smith said. "I'll be down there for the Tennessee, LSU and probably Georgia Southern game. I won't take my official visit until after the season.

"Coach Rumph came to my game a couple of weeks ago. I talk to him on a weekly basis. We just talk about the previous game and the upcoming game. We talked about different things. We have a good relationship."

Smith's commitment to Alabama means very little to other schools trying to lure him away before signing day..

"I am still hearing from Georgia, Auburn and Florida State," said Smith. "I don't plan on taking any other visits. I do want to go to the Auburn/Alabama game, but I know it's at Auburn. We will see how that works."

St. Pius X is undefeated this season (5-0). Smith had 96 yards rushing with two touchdowns this past week. He also had his first interception of the season playing safety.
