Travell Dixon talks with coaches

Travell Dixon, the nation's top junior college cornerback from Thatcher-Eastern Arizona, has scheduled one official visit. He is keeping in contact with several coaches including one SEC head coach.

"Our football schedule is so crazy I probably will have to wait until after the season to take the rest of my visits," said Travell Dixon. "I am going to Alabama for the my official when they play LSU. I am definitely going on that one.

Dixon is keeping things close to the vest as he continues to study the different programs.

"I really can't name any favorites right now," he said. "I am still doing my research on everyone. The three schools I am hearing from the most are Alabama, Oklahoma and Florida State. I am also hearing from Arkansas.

Dixon is keeping in close contact with the Tide coaching staff.

"I talk to coach Saban from Alabama," he said. "I really talk to the whole coaching staff at Alabama. Coach Saban asks me if I saw their games the week before. He talks about how I will fit in with their scheme.

"Alabama is everything I expected they would be this season. I expected them to be this good. I like the defense. I like all the coaches. I do feel like I can be a great additional piece to their program."

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound defensive back is on track to graduate Eastern Arizona in December. He has an official visit scheduled to Alabama and also hopes to visit California.

"I really like coach Pendergast," Dixon said of Cal. "He is a good coach. He has been in the league. I like his style of defense."
