Alabama All-Star: Ryan Anderson

Ryan Anderson, three-star defensive end from Daphne, Ala., is making a lot of noise this season. The Alabama commitment is proving it every week with his performance on the field. Anderson was recognized Wednesday as a member of the Alabama All-Stars and will participate in the annual event facing the Mississippi All-Stars in December. Anderson talked of the tapping and who he is recruiting.

"I saw that it came out today," Ryan Anderson said of the Alabama All-Star roster. "My coach had told me about it. It's just another game I guess. I know they [Mississippi] won't beat us."

Daphne (6-0) is ranked the No. 14 team in the country by Prattville received the early attention in the state, but it's finally shifting back to the defending Class 6A state champs.

"I still don't feel like we are getting any respect," Anderson said. "We will make teams respect us with our performance on the field. I'm tried of not being respected, so I am going out there every week with a chip on my shoulder."

The 6-foot-3, 250-pounder is having a season to remember. He has recorded 12 sacks and 50 tackles. He could easily eclipse 20 sacks this year.

Anderson has seen the Crimson Tide with back-to-back wins against SEC opponents, Arkansas and Florida. He watched the Florida game at home, but was in Tuscaloosa for the game against the Razorbacks.

"I thought it was going to be a lot closer than that," Anderson said of Alabama's 38-10 win in Gainesville. "It got out of hand quick. Whew, baby that defense came to play. I know my time will come.

"I went to the Arkansas game. I thought that was going to be a tough one too, but it was a blowout. They are putting it on people this year."

Teammate T.J. Yeldon is making a strong case for Mr. Football this year. Yeldon is an Auburn commitment and visited Tuscaloosa for the Arkansas game.

"He didn't go up there with me," Anderson said. "He wanted to go up there. He went on his own. I don't ever get out of his ear about coming to Bama. It's going to pay off before too long. I recruit him harder than anyone else. Coaches aren't with us every day. They can't see him every day like me. I'm going to text him 'Roll Tide' 50 times."
