Humes hoping for good news

Chris Humes, three-star cornerback from Hoover-Spain Park, Ala., has become a frequent visitor this fall to an SEC school. He is hopeful an offer is on the horizon. A couple of other SEC visits are also on tap.

"I have been to Alabama a couple of times this year," said Chris Humes. "I went to the Kent State, North Texas and Arkansas games. I plan on going back for the Tennessee and LSU game.

"Alabama is really the only school I have visited. Well, I did take a visit down to Troy. I plan on seeing Mississippi State and Tennessee."

Humes discussed the trips to Tuscaloosa, and why he is spending so much time at the in-state school.

"The visits to Alabama have been really good," he said. "They came out with wins every time I have gone. The atmosphere has been great. The coaching staff is great.

"The coaches keep telling me they really like me. They want me to set up an official visit with them in the off-season. They have told me an offer is probably going to come.

"I like that Alabama is winning program. They are successful. It's a good school for me to get a degree. They have a great tradition of winning."

Humes is mainly hearing from Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi State and Tennessee. He does not list any favorites at this time.

The defensive back has close to 40 tackles this season and nine pass break-ups.
