Alabama Gymnasts Intrasquad Sunday
"The Ghosts and Goblins intrasquad is a great opportunity for our fans to get a sneak peek at the current team," Alabama Coach Sarah Patterson, now in her 34th year at The Capstone, said. "We invite everyone to join us for what promises to be a really fun afternoon in the gym."
This year's intrasquad is open to the public and comes just a day after the Crimson Tide receives its national championship rings in Bryant-Denny Stadium during the Alabama-Tennessee football game.
"The ladies are excited to get on the equipment in front of fans for the first time this season in a competitive environment," Patterson said. "This is our annual measuring stick to see where we are and how far we have to go until the season gets underway."
NCAA floor exercise champion and eight-time All-American Geralen Stack-Eaton will once again lead the Goblins. In addition to attempting to help bring the Goblins their sixth win in the past seven years, Stack-Eaton is also looking for her fourth consecutive Ghosts and Goblins all-around title.
Joining the Horsham, Penn., native on the Goblins' squad will be junior All-Americans Ashley Sledge and Marissa Gutierrez, sophomore All-American Sarah DeMeo, sophomore Ria Domier as well as freshmen Lora Leigh Frost, Brooke Parker and Kaitlyn Clark.
Attempting to smash the Goblins' dynasty will be senior All-Americans Ashley Priess and Rachel Terry, sophomore All-Americans Diandra Milliner and Kim Jacob, junior Becca Alexin, sophomores Hannah Toussaint, Lindsey Fowler and Olivia Carisella and freshman Kayla Williams.
