Brandon Greene talks weekend and more

Brandon Greene, four-star offensive tackle from Ellenwood-Cedar Grove, Ga., continues to hear recruiting pitches from other programs. The Tide commitment talked with Andrew Bone about the schools and visits.

"We [Johnathon McCrary] are heading to Tuscaloosa this weekend," said Brandon Greene. "It's going to the be same as it always is. Tennessee is going to come down and get beat."

Johnathon McCrary, the elite quarterback in the class of 2013 and Green's teammate, has the University of Alabama No. 1 on his list.

"It would mean a lot to me to have my quarterback there with me," Greene said of McCrary's top school. "I didn't start playing football until I was in the ninth grade. We came in and played together. He is the only quarterback I know. It would be a great opportunity for us to play together in college."

Greene talked with Alabama assistant coach Chris Rumph Wednesday night. The two speak on a weekly basis.

"UGA, Ole Miss, North Carolina and South Carolina are all calling and sending me mail," Greene said. "I am feeling real good about my commitment. I am 100-percent committed to Alabama. I will probably not take any visits.

"It means a lot to me that Alabama recruited me. It means coach Saban sees a lot in me to recruit me that hard. I am going to work hard to be the best I can be."

The Peach State prospect was selected to participate in the Under Armour All-America game.

"Everyone knows it's a big honor," Greene said. "It's God, hard work and my coaches. I just try to stay humble. I try to take it one day at a time."
