Geno Smith back from Tuscaloosa

Geno Smith, four-star cornerback from Atlanta-St. Pius X, Ga., attended his first Alabama game this season in Tuscaloosa. The Tide commitment discussed his visit to the Capstone.

"That was my first game at Alabama this year," said Geno Smith. "It was fun. I had a chance to meet some of the other commitments and guys who were on their official visits.

"I met a ton of guys. I met Dillon Lee. He was on his official visit. I met Darius Philon, Darren Lake, Ryan Anderson and Tyler Hayes."

Smith gave more of his thoughts about the annual SEC game between the Tide and Volunteers.

"The first half it looked like Alabama was just trying to get a good feel for them," he said. "It's a big rivalry game. Tennessee came out and played hard. Alabama got back to what they do best in the second half. The defense had a big night.

"I spoke to the coaches. They were excited I was there. They were glad I finally got down there for a game. I told them I was excited too. I told them I can't wait to get there and work hard."

The National 100 prospect will return to Alabama in two weeks for the LSU game.

"It's going to be a big game," Smith said. "Both teams have great defenses. It's going to be a real fun game to watch."
