Grant Hill returns to SEC school

Grant Hill, offensive lineman from Huntsville, Ala., is a 2013 recruit who is emerging on the radar of several schools. He took his second visit of the season to Tuscaloosa this past weekend. Andrew Bone has the latest news...

"The trip went pretty good," said Grant Hill. "I had a lot of fun this time. I got to go in coach Saban's office before the game and go in the locker room.

"The atmosphere was more intense that the North Texas game. I know there is more hostility when they play Tennessee. They boo when they play Rocky Top. They are louder and meaner towards Tennessee.

"I thought it was a great game. Alabama didn't really show up in the first half. They were a different team in the second half. They came out on fire. That's kind of how they have been all year. They just finish strong."

Hill talked more about his conversation with the Tide's head coach.

"Coach Saban asked about our season," he said. "We talked about that. He talked about Alabama and how they need to finish better. He talked about how he needs offensive linemen who have ability to pass block and run block. We just talked about football."

"Coach Saban said they are interested in me. Coach Sunseri said he is more than interested in me."

Hill hopes to receive an invite from Alabama to return for the LSU game.

"I understand they probably want all their top seniors at that game, and I am just a junior," he said. "I am going to get in touch with the offensive line coach [Jeff Stoutland] about coming down there. Hopefully, I will get to go.

"It's going to be the best game of the year as far as I know. They are the best two teams in the SEC. Whoever wins will decide the SEC championship, and in my opinion the national champion."

Hill has received interest from Alabama, Auburn, Louisville, Mississippi State and Rutgers.

Huntsville will finish the regular season Thursday night against Cullman and will host Minor in the first round of the playoffs.
