Quan Jones visits Alabama

Quan Jones, wide receiver from Wylie-East, Texas, visited Tuscaloosa for the first time Saturday for the Alabama-LSU game. The 6-foot-4, 195-pound junior discussed the visit and interest in the Tide.

"The visit was cool," said Quan Jones. "The atmosphere was great. That was my first-ever time going there.

"The game was pretty good. I loved the environment. The fans were crazy. I really liked the stadium."

Schools are always in search of playmakers on the offensive side of the ball. Alabama could use a big receiver like Jones on the outside.

"I talked to Mike Groh," Jones said. "He was saying they need some big tall receivers there. He talked about my grades. He said he is going to come check us out sometime soon."

Jones has earned early scholarship offers from Arizona, Baylor and Tennessee. He is also receiving interest from Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon and Texas Tech. He discussed his interest in Alabama.

"I like Alabama," said Jones. "I think this weekend was a great move for Alabama. I like the stadium and the coaches. The coaching staff seems real cool."
