Alabama: Recruiting Notebook

The weekend saw many of the Tide targets on the recruiting board at various schools across the region taking unofficial and official visits. The University of Alabama had a big win against Auburn, and the Super 6 is this week at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Kwon Alexander's four

The five-star linebacker, from Oxford, Ala., has trimmed his list of schools to four schools which includes Alabama, Auburn, Florida State and LSU. Oregon was previously on Alexander's list, but the Ducks no longer have room. Alexander, who tore his ACL during the regular season, has already taken official visits to Auburn and LSU. He took a visit to Auburn this past weekend.

Tide still looks good

Cyrus Jones, five-star athlete from Baltimore-Gilman, Md., remains high on Alabama. Sources outside of Auburn have indicated the Crimson Tide remains in great shape to land the elite prospect.

Jordan Jenkins took last visit

The five-star defensive end from Hamilton-Harris County, Ga., took his fifth and final official visit this past weekend to the University of Florida. Jenkins has also taken visits to Alabama, Auburn, Georgia and Tennessee. A decision for the No. 1 prospect in the state of Georgia is expected in January, likely at the Under Armour All-America game. He had a good visit to Gainesville, but Alabama remains the team to beat for his signature.

"Alabama is coming Wednesday morning, and Florida is coming Wednesday afternoon. Coach Nick Saban and Kirby Smart are coming from Alabama, and Coach Young, Coach Quinn, and Coach White are coming from Florida," Jenkins told FOXSports/Scout.com of his in-home visitors this week.

FSU commitment at Auburn

Jameis Winston, five-star quarterback from Hueytown, Ala., attended his third Alabama game of the season this past weekend. He was an unofficial visitor on the Plains. The Tigers aren't really considered a contender in the hunt, but Alabama and LSU remain in the mix. He may decide not to take an official visit with the Tide because of all the unofficial visits through the years.

Tide commitment taking official

Dillon Lee, four-star middle linebacker from Buford, Ga., will take an official visit to UGA. His brother, Dallas Lee, is a current Bulldog in Athens. Alabama will have an in-home visit on Thursday. "I have decided to take an official visit to Georgia when they have their GALA on the December 9 weekend," Lee told FOXSports/Scout.com. "That is when the coaches wanted me to visit, so I decided to go ahead with that."

Tide top three

Eddie Goldman, five-star defensive tackle from Edison Friendship in Washington D.C., took an official visit to Auburn this past weekend. He has already visited Alabama making it the second time he watched the Crimson Tide live this season. Goldman said after the trip his top three schools at this time are Alabama, Auburn and Florida State. He will take remaining visits to Cal and Miami. Goldman expects to make a decision before national signing day.

Title games this week

The Super Six state championships have returned to Tuscaloosa this year with games beginning on Thursday. Alabama has two of their commitments participating in titles games this week. Darius Philon, three-star defensive end from Prichard-Vigor, helped lead his team to an upset win last week against previously undefeated Hueytown. Vigor will play Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. against Hartselle. Bradley Bozeman, offensive tackle from Roanoke-Handley, is a 2013 commitment and will play Madison Academy Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. Prattville returns to the title game against Hoover which is Friday, December 2nd at 7:00 p.m. The Lions feature Alabama commitments Justin Thomas (quarterback/athlete) and Caleb Gulledge (offensive lineman).
