Bone's Best Darius Philon

Andrew Bone provides a closer look at the Top 60 players in the state of Alabama in the class of 2012 post-season. We're counting down each day this week until the complete list is released Christmas Day.

10. Darius Philon three-star
No. 53 defensive tackle
6-foot-1, 270-pounds

Did you know: Philon finished his senior season with 66 tackles, 11 sacks and nine tackles for loss. He had 10 tackles, a sack and fumble recovery in the state championship game while playing on a torn meniscus.

Recruitment: Darius Philon gave his original commitment to Auburn. He was offered by Alabama a month later and swtiched his commitment.

Andrew Bone says: Darius Philon is a relentless defender who is simply a playmaker. Philon played in the state championship game with a torn meniscus, but still managed double-digit tackles, a sack and fumble recovery. He plays with passion, aggression and quickness. He has the potential to become a dominating defensive end for the Tide.
