Alabama's wish list

The University of Alabama commitment's list already has 24 unwrapped presents. Five of the gifts have come in the month of December including the Tide's latest commitment in the nation's top junior college cornerback. Alabama might add a few more gifts shortly after the holiday and before the Tide plays in the BCS National Championship.

Landon Collins

The premier recruit, from Geismar-Dutchtown, La., will announce his college decision at the Under Armour All-American game January 4th. The five-star safety, and ranked No. 2 in the country at his position, has trimmed his list to Alabama and LSU. He is an instant impact player at the next level. The Tide could definitely use him in the secondary with the loss of Mark Barron to the NFL and possibly Robert Lester.

Cyrus Jones

The five-star, from Baltimore-Gilman, Md., is closing in on his decision. He will also announce his college choice at the Under Armour All-America game. Jones has trimmed his favorites to Alabama and Virginia Tech. He is an elite athlete who can play on either side of the ball. He is also a dangerous weapon on special teams. Alabama is expected to land his commitment.

Channing Ward

The five-star defensive end, from Aberdeen, Miss., plans to announce his decision at the Under Armour All-America game. Ward has only taken official visits to Auburn and LSU. Alabama remains in the mix, but the projection is he remains in-state.

Jordan Jenkins

The five-star defensive end, from Hamilton-Harris County, Ga., will announce his college decision January 9th at 7:00 p.m (CST) on the new FoxSports South college football show: The Next Class. Jenkins will decide between Alabama, Auburn, Florida and Georgia. Alabama and Florida have been considered the frontrunners, but Georgia has made a late push. The debut program, which is filmed in Atlanta, makes one think the Dawgs are looking for his announcement in their favor. Alabama is currently ranked with the No. 3 recruiting class, Florida No. 6, Auburn No. 15, and Georgia at No. 26.

This is a list of top prospects who plan to announce a decision before the University of Alabama returns home from the BCS National Championship in New Orleans.
