Adam Griffith talks official visit

Adam Griffith, the nation's top kicker from Calhoun, Ga., took an official visit to the University of Alabama this weekend. It was a fun trip to Tuscaloosa especially after the Crimson Tide returned home as national champions. Griffith discussed his trip to the Capstone.

"The trip was good," said Adam Griffith. "I had a good time there. It was defintiely more exciting down there after they won the championship.

"I would say the best part about the trip was just hanging out with the players. Those are the guys I am going to be with next year. We did everything together. Just talking to those guys they say Alabama is such a great place. I also enjoyed meeting the other guys who are committed."

Griffith gave a play-by-play of his time on campus.

"On Friday we went out to dinner with the recruits and players," he said. "The players took us out that night, and we had a good time. My host was Carson Tinker. He is a good guy.

"We spent a lot of time with the coaches. We did everything together. They gave us a tour of the campus on Saturday, and we met all the academic people. They gave us all the info we needed to know.

"We went to coach Saban's house this morning for breakfast. It was a lot of fun going there. It was something unique. Not a lot of people get to go to coach Saban's house.

"I hung out with Darren Lake a lot this weekend. We played together in the Semper Fi All-American game. I talked to some of the other guys, but didn't spend a lot of time with them."

The top high school kicker in the country and Tide commitment was excited about Alabama defeating LSU for the BCS National Championship.

"I was happy for them," said Griffith. "At the same time I was wishing I was there. Jeremy Shelley did a great job. I was hoping the kicking game was going to change from the first game They did a lot better."
