Brandon Greene talks signing day

Brandon Greene, four-star offensive tackle from Ellenwood-Cedar Grove, Ga., took his official visit to the University of Alabama this past weekend. Plenty of chatter as of late of where he will sign on national signing day. He talked about the trip to Tuscaloosa and who continues to press about flipping his commitment.

"The trip was a lot of fun," Brandon Greene said of the Alabama official visit. "I can't complain about anything. They showed me a lot of the same stuff. The only difference is I spent the night. It was really cool.

"The championship celebration was good. It was crazy to see all the fans. Everyone kept saying get No. 15. I signed a couple of autographs. It was real loud. A lot of people were there.

The Georgia coaching staff tried to flip another one of the Tide's commitments from the class of 2010. A lot of pressure was placed on the athlete to stay at home to play college football. The two players can definitely relate.

"Blake Sims was my host for the weekend," Greene said. "He is from Georgia. I guess that's why they put us together. We can relate a lot. I hung out with him before. We were just catching up."

Greene talked about his time with head coach Nick Saban and future position coach, Jeff Stoutland.

"Nick Saban was telling me about the role I am going to play when I get to Alabama," Greene said. "He told me they still want me to come in and play left tackle. He was catching up with my mom this weekend.

"Coach Stoutland and I sat down for a while. We talked about life. I have a real good relationship with him. We talked about life more than football. He and coach Rumph are like father figures to me."

Greene will host the Tide coaches this week.

"Coach Saban and coach Rumph plan on coming to my house tomorrow night," he said. "I am looking forward to signing day. A lot of stress will finally be off of me. I can make my decision official."

The Alabama coaching staff is not concerned about the home-state school trying to change Greene's commitment.

"I am not sure if Georgia plans on visiting with me again or not," Greene said. "I am sure they will contact my coach if they want to. The Alabama coaches didn't really ask me about them this weekend. They know where I stand with my decision. They don't have anything to worry about."
