Ardarius Stewart commits to Crimson Tide

Ardarius Stewart, athlete from Fultondale, Ala., is one of the top athletes in the Southeast in the class of 2013. Stewart accounted for 52 touchdowns during his junior season and rushed for more than 2,000 yards as a quarterback. Stewart earned a scholarship offer from Alabama Saturday and pulled the trigger.

Ardarius Stewart becomes the second commitment of the day for the Crimson Tide. He is the sixth overall commitment for Alabama in the class of 2013. He is one of the elite players in the state and will rank as one of the top five overall recruits.

Stewart's recruitment has taken flight with recent offers from Clemson, Tennessee and Utah. Alabama offered this morning at Junior Day.

The 6-foot-1, 170-pound athlete had a tremendous junior campaign rushing for 2,188 yards and 30 touchdowns on 199 carries. He passed for 1,419 yards with 20 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He added 48 tackles on defense, three interceptions returning one for a touchdown. He also had a kickoff return for a touchdown.
