Why Alabama: "My mom has always told me to keep God first and pray about it, and it just came down to where my heart was and what school I was most comfortable with. I called coach Saban and the rest of the staff and just told them that I'll be rolling with the Tide.

"Coach Saban told me that he was definitely overwhelmed with my decision, and he's looking forward to coaching me. Coach Saban is a cool laid back type of guy. I can tell he's really interested in me as a player and basically preaches that I could come in and fill the need of the next explosive guy.

"I believe coach Mike Groh is a great guy as well as a great coach. Throughout the recruiting process coach Groh and I have developed a great relationship, and I'm looking forward to being coached by him."

Strengths/Improvements: "I can make plays. I run creative routes and am very elusive after the catch. I'm a good deep threat too, and I can turn a short 10-yard pass into something much more. I want to get stronger. And I'm still working on my route-running and footwork."

Coach Quotes: "He's been outstanding," said head coach Marty Lee. "He was a leader on-and-off the field. He has a great disposition about him. It has been a privilege to coach him all the way up to the state championship game, and now he's enrolled early at Alabama. That tells you what kind of student he was. He is just all-around a great kid.

"He felt this was the best environment because he could have gone to Florida or Florida State. He could have gone anywhere in the South, but he chose his school based on the tradition, the facilities and the complex. He just felt that this was the best fit.

"He's an easy going guy. He gets along with everybody. He's a hard worker. He is going to fit in. There is no doubt that. He has that type of personality.

"They are going to look at him at wide receiver. They think that once he's been there and gets in the weight program and get some weight on he could be the next Julio Jones. It just depends on how hard he works and how well his body develops.

Andrew Bone says: "Black is an aggressive receiver who goes after the ball at its highest point. He is a smooth route runner and dangerous in the open field. Black has great ability to separate himself from defenders. He is a natural playmaker with excellent speed. He is a terrific athlete who has his shot at early playing time in Tuscaloosa."
