Why Alabama: "I chose Alabama because I think it's the best place for me to mature as a player and person. It's the top conference, so I am going to play against top competition every week and give myself the greatest exposure and chance to make it to the next level.
"Ultimately, I just felt comfortable with the coaches and the people around the program. They are people that will push me academically which will set up my future. I am looking forward to challenging myself.
"I'm a highly competitive person, and a lot of people don't believe I can play at a high level at a school like Alabama. Football has been my love since I was little. Why not get an opportunity like this and not take it. I am ready to push myself to the limit and whether I am a star in college and go to the NFL, who knows. I'll be happy knowing I gave myself the best shot of reaching my goal."
Strength/Improvements: "I like to be a playmaker whether it's offense or defense. I want to do whatever it takes to help my team win whether it's offense or defense. I was recruited to play wide receiver at Alabama. I am athlete and can play wherever they need me. When I am on the field I turn into a different person. It's all about business. I turn into an animal. I am at home on the field. I don't take any plays off. I give it 100-percent everytime."
Coach Quotes: "Let's start with four years or varsity; he started as a freshman," said head coach Buff Poggi. "He is a really wonderful kid. A very, very competitive kid. The better and higher the competition the better he likes it. He wants the ball. He wants the pressure on himself. There is nothing he loves more than having the ball in his hands in the last minute of the championship game.
"He really loves Sal [Sunseri]. He will tell you that he is going to really miss Sal, but he didn't go to Alabama for Coach Sal. He went to Alabama because of Alabama. He is a big believer in Nick Saban."
Andrew Bone says: Alabama landed one of the premier athletes in the country with Cyrus Jones. He can play on either side of the ball. He prefers to have the ball in his hands. He is an explosive athlete who can line up in the slot and also used in Wildcat formation. He is an elusive player and very dangerous in open space."
Rebecca Johnston contributed to this report.
"He wants the pressure on himself."
