Jonathan Cook talks Alabama

Jonathan Cook, cornerback from Spanish Fort, Ala., is receiving a lot of interest . The first scholarship offer came from an in-state school, and he recently attended his first Junior Day.

"I have an offer from South [Alabama]," said Jonathan Cook. "I am supposed to go up to Auburn on February 25. They said they are going to give me an offer. Alabama wants me to come to their camp this summer.

"The schools showing the most interest in me right now are Louisville, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Missouri, Auburn and Alabama. I went to Alabama's Junior Day. I'll be going to Auburn in a few weeks."

Cook talked more about his visit to Tuscaloosa.

"The visit was nice," he said. "I liked everything about it. I talked to coach Pruitt. He said they want me to come back for the two day camp. They want to see if I have the speed. They want me to come compete.

"Alabama is a nice place. I watch them on TV. It was great to go visit. I went to the LSU game and the Kent State game. The atmosphere was nice. I loved everything about the atmosphere. They are the No. 1 school in the nation."

The 6-foot, 177-pound prospect had 64 tackles in 2011, six interceptions and 24 pass break-ups.

Cook knows his strengths and recognizes what to improve in the off-season.

"I am pretty good at zone and playing man free," he said. "I have good ball skills, and I can break on the ball. I just need to work on my speed. I am fast. I just want to get better overall."
