Frank Herron talks Junior Day and more

Frank Herron, defensive end from Memphis-Central, Tenn., has several scholarship offers including another SEC school offering on Monday. Herron also visited Tuscaloosa for Junior Day. He talked about the trip to Tuscaloosa and his talk with Nick Saban.

"I went to Alabama this weekend," said Frank Herron. "It was a great experience. I learned a lot. I spoke to coach Saban. They showed us around. We had a fun.

"I liked the weight room. The weight coach was really cool. I also really liked how coach Saban was straightforward with me. He told me what all he liked about me."

The 6-foot-5, 235-pound prospect will receive more evaluation during the summer by the Tide coaching staff.

"Coach Saban said he liked my physical ability," Herron said. "He likes my size. He wants to see me in camp before they offer me. They are recruiting me as a defensive end/linebacker. I spoke to the defensive line coach and coach Groh. They like my size."

Herron talked about his interest in Alabama.

"The man in the weight room brought a lot of energy," he said. "He brought a lot of positive stuff. I like him. I also liked how coach Saban told me he wants to see me in camp and work with me."

Herron has several scholarship offers including a new one from the SEC.

"I am up to 17 offers now," he said. "Arkansas offered me today. I like them a lot. It's close to home. They are in the SEC, and they compete. I don't have any favorites at this time. Everyone is pretty much the same."

Herron plans to visit Mississippi State and Tennessee in the near future.
