Luke Ward visits Alabama

Luke Ward, quarterback from Decaturville-Riverside, Tenn., is one of the select few 2014 prospects invited to the Alabama's Junior Day this past weekend. Ward talked about the trip to Tuscaloosa and other schools showing early interest.

"I went to Alabama's Junior Day," said Luke Ward. "The visit was great. It was a great experience. I loved it. Alabama is a great place. I loved the environment.

"They told me they liked my highlight film. They want me back this summer for camp. We will see where it goes from there. I spoke with coach Lance Thompson and coach Nussmeier.

"The coaches are real professional. That's what I really loved about it. They showed a lot of interest in me. That's what I really liked. I like it a lot up there."

The 6-foot-2, 184-pound athlete talked more about his interest in the Tide.

"I like the football program, facilities, and I like the coaches," Ward said. "There isn't one thing I don't like about them."

Ward is also hearing from Arkansas, Georgia, Mississippi State, Penn State and Vanderbilt. He was invited to Junior Day at Georgia and Mississippi State. He plans to camp this summer at Alabama, Arkansas and Vanderbilt.

"This past summer I really worked on getting stronger," Ward said. "My arm strength is really there. I have been working on my footwork. The thing I need to work on the most is my touch, and since I play baseball I throw it like a baseball sometimes."
