"I committed to Alabama tonight," said Tyren Jones. "I spoke with Coach Saban, coach Smart and coach Burns. They were very excited about my decision. They told me to keep working hard.
"Alabama felt like the best place for me. I had the feeling it was the right school. I really like the situation there. I like the school and the coaches a lot.
"I still plan on taking visits. Right now I am solid with my commitment. I am happy to have my decision out of the way. I can now focus on my senior season."
Other scholarship offers came from Boston College, Auburn, Clemson, Duke, Florida, UGA, Oklahoma State, Tennessee and Vanderbilt.
