Elite Florida defender visits Alabama

Demarcus Walker, defensive end from Jacksonville-Sandalwood, Fla., was one of the top overall recruits in Tuscaloosa this past weekend for Junior Day. He talked about the first visit to Tuscaloosa.

"The visit to Alabama was great," said Demarcus Walker. "I had fun spending time with the coaches and the players. I learned a lot of new things from them.

"I have never visited Alabama before. The campus was great. It was all very awesome. They have a lot of great facilities."

The 6-foot-4, 250-pound prospect has serious interest in the 2011 BCS National Champions.

"The coaches were just telling me how things are up there and about the academics," he said. "They talked about the statistics when it comes to football when it comes to getting players ready for the NFL.

"Alabama is recruiting me as a 'Jack' linebacker. I like Alabama. It's a great place. I now know I have some real hard thinking to do."

Walker reports more than 20 scholarship offers including Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Georgia Tech, Miami, South Carolina, Tennessee, USC and West Virginia.
