Tide Women's Golf Plays At Florida

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Alabama's second-ranked women's golf team begins play at the Gator Women's Invitational on Friday on the par-70, 6,002-yard Mark Bostick Golf Course.

It is Alabama's third event of the spring schedule after capturing the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate in their last outing at the Long Cove Club in Hilton Head Island, S.C. The Crimson Tide has won two events this season with four top-two finishes in six events.

The Gator Women's Invitational boasts a 17-team field that includes eight teams from the Southeastern Conference. The field also includes seven teams – Alabama, Auburn, Baylor, Duke, Florida, Georgia and Florida State – in the top 30 in the latest Golf World/NGCA Coaches Poll.

The remaining field consists of Arkansas, Chattanooga, Georgia State, Kent State, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Mississippi, Central Florida, South Florida and Wisconsin.

Alabama's team has three of the nation's top-16 golfers in the most recent Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index with Brooke Pancake ranked third, Stephanie Meadow 14th and Jennifer Kirby 16th. Pancake also leads the team in scoring average at 71.82 while Kirby is second at 72.47 and Meadow third at 72.76.

The Tide's starting lineup in the Gator Women's Invitational is sophomore Hannah Collier and freshman Johanna Tillström. Alabama will tee off at 8 a.m. (CDT) on Friday from the 10th tee and will be playing with Baylor and Florida State.
