Hayes talks position change
"I plan on heading up to Alabama on May 27," Tyler Hayes said of his move to Tuscaloosa. "I know I am rooming with Reggie Ragland so far. I am not sure who else yet.
"I have been keeping in touch with Ryan [Anderson] and T.J. [Yeldon]. I talk to them every time I go up there. They have been telling me it's hard, but they are starting to get used to everything."
Hayes attended on of the Tide's spring practices last week. He plans to return to Tuscaloosa this week and also attend A-Day.
"I went to practice last Wednesday," he said. "The team is looking really good. I was mainly watching the guys at the H-Back position. That is where I will start out.
"It's the position I want to play. I decided on it myself. I think it's a wide open slot. There really isn't anyone right now who has the position locked up. Maybe I can come in and take it."
The 6-foot-3, 215-pound athlete has been working hard during the off-season and preparing for his arrival at the Capstone.
"The main thing I am focused on is conditioning," Hayes said. "I have been doing weights and running. It's been good. The program is a little tougher. It's a little different. It's good though. I mainly keep in touch with coach Pruitt and coach Cochran. Coach Cochran just makes sure I am doing the work-out program."
