Kendell Beckwith impressed with Tide

Kendell Beckwith, four-star outside linebacker from Clinton-East Feliciana, La., traveled to Tuscaloosa for an unofficial visit with the Crimson Tide. Beckwith recently named favorites with two powerhouse programs. He talked about the return trip to the Capstone.

"I went up to watch their spring practice yesterday," said Kendell Beckwith. "Everything was good. They were real competitive. Those guys are big.

"I was impressed with the defense. The whole defense looked in sync. The offense wasn't getting any yards. They look like they are going to be real good.

"I talked to coach Lance [Thompson]. I then talked with coach Smart. I talked to coach Burns and coach Saban. Most of them just spoke to me. Coach Smart told me I got bigger. That's what they were really saying. They would love for me to be a part of their program.

Beckwith spent time with many of the coaches who were giving him advice on position.

"They were talking to me more about playing outside linebacker," he said. "Coach Saban said they like to start all of their linebackers on the inside and then move them to the outside.

"I like the coaching staff a lot. I think they are great. They really push their players. They care about you. They are a great staff. That's something I am really looking for in a school."

Beckwith remains high on the Tide following the trip to Tuscaloosa.

"I just love the whole atmosphere," Beckwith said. "The campus is nice. They have great coaches. The defense is really nice. I like the way they operate and use different defenses."

Alabama and LSU remain at the top of Beckwith's list of favorites.
