Korey Cunningham visits Tuscaloosa

Korey Cunningham, tight end from Montevallo, Ala., has several schools showing interest. He was in Tuscaloosa on Wednesday to observe the Tide's practice.

"The visit to Alabama went really good," said Korey Cunningham. "I talked to the coaches and watched practice up close. I spoke with coach Saban. I plan on going to their three day camp this summer.

"Coach Saban said they really need some tight ends. They are going to come watch me practice this spring. Coach Thompson has been in contact with my coach. He told me I need to gain some weight."

Cunningham has been to Tuscaloosa several times. He talked about his interest in the program.

"I like their offense," he said. "They use three tight ends in some sets. I like how they use them and throw the ball. I like how they block. I like the atmosphere down there. It's a family thing."

The 6-foot-5, 235-pound prospect played in a Wing-T offense last season. He expects to see the ball a lot more this fall with new head coach and former Alabama quarterback Andrew Zow calling the plays.

"I have really good hands," Cunningham said. "I love to block. I like to get after it. I really love to catch and block. I come off the line really good. I would probably like to work on my speed and footwork. I run a 4.9. I want to get it down to a 4.7."

Cunningham has also visited South Alabama and UAB. He has interest in Alabama, Auburn, BYU, Georgia and South Alabama.
