Coaches visit tight end

Gerald Sterling, tight end from Aliceville, Ala., is a prospect looking to emerge this spring. The 2011 BCS National Champions were the first school to visit this week.

"We started spring practice yesterday," said Gerald Sterling. "Coach Doug Nussmeier was watching me out there. He seemed like he was getting excited when I was making big plays.

"He was talking to my coach. I call them every week. They seem really interested in me. They tell me to keep my grades up. They want me to come to camp and if I do good I can get an offer."

South Alabama visited Aliceville High School on Monday. Sterling will attend several camps this summer including Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Tennessee and Troy.
