The University of Alabama had a fifth player selected in the NFL Draft Friday night, and news of a former five-star quarterback is transferring from the Capstone. More recruiting news included... **Update: A total of eight Crimson Tide players selected in the NFL Draft. More than any other school in the country.

The NFL Draft continued on Saturday with three additional Tide players selected from the BCS National Champions:

Josh Chapman was selected as the 1st pick in the 5th Round, 136th overall, to the Indianapolis Colts.

DeQuan Menzie was selected as the 11th pick in the 5th Round, 146th overall, to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Brad Smelley was selected as the 4th pick in the 7th Round, 247th overall, to the Cleveland Browns.

Courtney Upshaw, from Eufaula, Ala., was selected in the NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens as the 3rd pick in the 2nd round and 35th player overall. Upshaw leaves Tuscaloosa with two National Championship rings, Defensive MVP of the National Championship Game and MVP of the Capital One Bowl.

Phillip Sims, a five-star and the No. 2 quarterback in the country coming out of high school, has decided to transfer based on moving closer to family in Va.

"The reason for me leaving is nothing more than a personal matter," Sims said. "I just need to be closer to home to support my family."

Alabama has offered numerous quarterbacks in the class of 2013 including uncommitted Cooper Bateman, Kevin Olsen, Mitch Trubisky, Connor Mitch, Brayden Scott, and Riley Ferguson.

The Tide coaching staff is on the road for spring evaluations and saw an in-state 2014 quarterback this week at Mortimer Jordan High School, Devlin Hodges.

Gerald Sterling, an in-state tight end from Aliceville High School, also received a visit from the Tide's offensive coordinator.
