Upshaw to fly with Ravens

Courtney Upshaw was a freshman reserve linebacker and special teams gem for Alabama. Three years later achievements multiplied – All-American, consecutive MVP bowl honors and candidate for a host of national awards. Impressed with the on-the-field football production, the Baltimore Ravens selected the defensive terror early in the second round of the 2012 NFL with the thirty-fifth overall pick.

Football was not necessarily the favorite sport of the Eufaula High School graduate. The dynamic hybrid defensive end/linebacker is one of only four Alabama letter winners in school history listed from the small Barbour County community. Former Crimson Tide legend and current Baltimore Ravens General Manager and Executive Vice President Ozzie Newsome drafted senior Courtney Upshaw to be a force in the 3-4 alignment.
