Headed to Alabama

Jonathan Allen, four-star defensive end from Stone Bridge High School in Ashburn, Va., has a pair of SEC schools at the top of his list. He travels to his native state this weekend for the first time in several years. Allen talked with Andrew Bone about the upcoming trip.

"I am heading down to Alabama this weekend," said Jonathan Allen. "I can't wait to get down there. I am really looking forward to the trip.

"This is my first actual visit to [University of] Alabama. I am super excited about it. I have been waiting on this for a long time. I just can't wait to see everything.

Allen has built a close relationship with his recruiter for the Tide.

"I have talked to coach Lance Thompson," he said. "Coach Thompson has been up here once. He plans on coming again. They are recruiting me as a Jack linebacker.

"Most of the time when I talk to the coaches they talk about their school. The biggest thing is getting me on campus. That has been the biggest thing we have been talking about."

The 6-foot-3, 235-pound prospect is anxious to learn more about the position on the Tide's defense.

"I haven't really seen the Jack linebacker position on film yet," Allen said. ""am sure that is what we will do down there this weekend. I will get to see more of where I will fit in there."

Two SEC powerhouse programs have been at the top of Allen's list for the past few months.

"Alabama and Florida are definitely my top two schools," he said. "I would like to make my decision within the next month and a half."
