Camping with Tide-Tigers

Kendell Beckwith, four-star defensive end from East Feliciana High School in Clinton, La., is ready to visit a couple of favorite schools this next week. He is not a bystander who will observe others learning from the best coaches in college football.

"I am going to Alabama on Sunday," said Kendell Beckwith. "I think I will stay two days there and then go back down to LSU for their camp. Both of the camps start on the same day.

"I am going to camp at both of the camps. I am not the type of guy who will just sit out there and watch. I like to compete and get better."

Beckwith is rated as a defensive end, plays quarterback, but is recruited for a different position.

"Alabama is going to have me working out at linebacker," he said. "LSU is also going to recruit me as a linebacker. At first everyone looked at me as a quarterback, but I told everyone I wanted to play defense. Ole Miss talked to me about quarterback. They are now recruiting me as a linebacker."

Beckwith is spending time with favorites this week, but don't expect the National 100 member to announce a decision anytime soon.

"I will probably make my decision at the end of the season," he said. "I may wait until the Under Armour game. Alabama and LSU are still coming at me the hardest right now. Ole Miss and Tennessee are coming at me pretty hard."

Beckwith has also been invited to ‘The Opening' in Oregon in July.
