James Cox ready for Alabama camp

The wide receiver, from Northridge High School in Tuscaloosa, Ala., is gearing up for his first major camp of the summer. He has several scholarship offers including a couple he added Thursday afternoon. Cox is hoping to earn more this summer.

"I am going to Alabama camp on Sunday," said James Cox. "They just want me to come up there for the one day camp. I am excited. It's a no-brainer.

"I talked to coach Nussmeier and coach Saban last week. They said I have gotten better. They are ready to see me. Hopefully I'll do my best."

The Alabama offensive coordinator has shown a lot of interest in the local talented prospect in his short time as a member of the Crimson Tide coaching staff.

"Coach Nuss said he really likes me," Cox said. "He came to my spring game. He said during the process there are some guys they offer early and some they offer later. You just have to keep grinding.

"I love coach Nuss. He came in and has been there for me. He keeps it straight up. I think he will keep the tradition alive at Alabama."

Offers continue to roll in for one of the state's top receivers.

"Cincinnati and South Alabama just offered me," said Cox. "I am real excited. It's another opportunity and free education."

Cox will attend the Mississippi State team camp next Friday and will visit Florida State in two weeks.
