Quarterback camps for Alabama offer
"I went to Alabama's camp yesterday," said John O'Korn. "I threw yesterday and today. The camp went really well. I got to work with coach Nussmeier and compete against some other top quarterbacks.
"I felt like I did really well. I am going to speak with coach Nuss later this week. We are going to talk about how I did compared to the other quarterbacks in attendance. Hopefully they are going to offer me."
O.J. Howard, an Alabama commitment who is rated the No. 2 tight end in the country, gave O'Korn high praise for his performance. The Sunshine State signal caller is a competitor and felt good about his time on campus.
"Just getting to compete against some of the best quarterbacks around the country and getting to work with coach Nuss was the best part of my visit," O'Korn said. "I just like going out and competing. I felt like I was the best quarterback there. That's through my eyes."
O'Korn enjoyed working with new Alabama offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier.
"He told me he loved working with me," O'Korn said. "He was really impressed with my raw talent. He really liked how I spun it. I am waiting to see how the other quarterbacks do they are evaluating this week. I am waiting to see if they decide to offer me."
The South Florida native was No. 2 on the depth chart last year for the high school powerhouse program. The 6-foot-3.5, 205-pound prospect has earned scholarship offers from North Carolina, UCF and South Florida. He hopes Alabama is next.
"It was my second time up there," O'Korn said of Tuscaloosa. "I liked it a lot. It's a really nice campus. The facilities are amazing. They are making them better than they already are which is incredible. I like it a lot. They have some guys from my school who play there."
O'Korn does not have any other plans scheduled for the summer.
