Parker McLeod commits to Alabama

Parker McLeod, three-star quarterback from Walton High School in Marietta, Ga., committed to the University of Alabama Friday afternoon. McLeod was a standout performer at the Tide's camp earlier this week. He joins Cooper Bateman as the Tide's two quarterback commitments in the class of 2013. McLeod talked about his decision.

"Coach Smart told me to call coach Saban," said Parker McLeod. "I called him. He told me they wanted me to be the second guy in their class at quarterback. I committed on the spot.

"It feels awesome to be committed. It really hasn't sunk in yet. I am so excited right now. I can't wait to get on campus. The plan for me right now is to graduate in December."

McLeod talked of his reasons for commiting to the 2011 BCS National Champions.

"I loved everything about Alabama," he said. "It's the perfect fit. I love the campus. It's the perfect fit. This past trip sealed it for me after getting to know coach Nussmeier."

McLeod also talked about his relationship with Alabama's new offensive coordinator.

"After he came to see me in the spring we talked a lot," McLeod said. "We got to know each other well. I got to work with him and see what he is like. I like his coaching style. I think he is a guy I can work with for four years."

McLeod joins his teammate Tyren Jones, four-star running back in Alabama's recruiting class.

"I haven't told him yet," he said. "He will be excited for me. It will be cool going to Alabama with him."

The 6-foot-3, 190-pound prospects has other scholarship offers from Oklahoma State, Boston College, Louisville and UCF.
