Darius Paige talks Alabama camp

Darius Paige, three-star defensive tackle from Washington High School in Pensacola, Fla., was a surprise commitment to the 2011 BCS National Champions in mid-May. Paige is a physical defender who was recruited to play nose guard for the University of Alabama. He talked more of his camp experience.

"The Alabama camp was pretty good," said Darius Paige. "I went up there Sunday and stayed until Wednesday. I learned some new moves that will get me some extra tackles and sacks this year."

Paige enjoyed competing with other top prospects in Tuscaloosa. He also enjoyed working with his future position coach.

"I got to interact with all the other big-time prospects," he said. "I liked that. It was good working out with the coaching staff. They told me I need to work on my technique. Overall they said I am doing pretty good.

"Coach Rumph is a pretty good guy. He is the type of guy who won't ever let me quit. I talked to coach Saban for a little bit while I was there. He was just telling me what is going to be expected of me when I get up there."

Paige measured 6-foot-3.5, 297-pounds at Alabama's camp. He is solid with his commitment and does not plan to take any other visits.
