Raekwon McMillan talks Tide offer

Raekwon McMillan, linebacker from Liberty City High School in Hinesville, Ga., is closing in on 20 scholarship offers. The 2014 prospect is pushing the chart for a five-star rating in next year's class. The 2011 BCS National Champions are the latest to offer the Peach State prospect.

"I was offered from Alabama," said Raekwon McMillan. "That's 18 offers now. It's truly a blessing to me that all my hard work is paying off. People are noticing me for football. I think it's great.

"My coach spoke with coach [Lance] Thompson. Coach Thompson said he likes my game. They emailed me today to let me know I have an offer from them. I haven't talked to them today though."

Where does the Tide stand among all the other offers for the defensive star?

"Alabama was actually one of my top colleges," he said. "I have taken a step back. I don't have any favorites right now. I am sitting back and looking at all the colleges who have offered.

"Alabama is one of the top programs in the nation. They have won two of the last three national championships. They are strongly defensively. They are defensive-minded. It's a real nice school and program. I haven't ever been there, but plan to visit in July."

McMillan hasn't taken many trips this summer, but he has visited Georgia. He plans to visit Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, and Florida in July.
