He's one of 34 players to have made the cut. Robert Griffin III took home the prize last year.
McCarron was named MVP of the national championship game after the Crimson Tide throttled LSU 21-0. He threw for 234 yards and had zero interceptions.
Last season, McCarron completed 66.8 percent of his passes, throwing for a total of 2,634 yards (third most in the SEC), 16 touchdowns and only five interceptions.
McCarron has also been put up for the Maxwell and Manning awards.
