Practice report: 8/25

Alabama freshman wide receiver Amari Cooper, who injured his foot last week and has been riding the stationary bike the past few days during the media viewing period, returned to practice Saturday afternoon.

Alabama was back at it in full pads Saturday afternoon. The Crimson Tide will face Michigan exactly one week from today at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas. The temperature was about 87 degrees and muggy at practice, and by the end of the media's viewing period, it was pouring. Here are some quick observations:

-Both wide receiver Amari Cooper (foot) and backup center Ryan Kelly (ankle) practiced today. Cooper, who wore a black no-contact jersey, had been riding the stationary bike all week during the media viewing period, and Kelly had been limited. Head coach Nick Saban said he hoped both would return to practice on Monday, so the fact that they came back two days early is good news.

-Nose guard Jesse Williams worked with freshman Darren Lake in sled drills instead of working with the first team defensive line. He's been taking it easy on his ankle he inured awhile back. Nothing to be concerned about.

-Redshirt freshman cornerback Bradley Sylve, who fractured his hand earlier this week, practiced.

Offensive line video coming soon.
