Tide Basketball Gets TV Exposure

Alabama will be in three of the six games televised as part of the 2K Sports Classic benefiting Wounded Warriors Project. All four basketball games in the Championship Round at Madison Square Garden will be televised.

Alabama is one of four teams selected as Regional Round hosts for the November basketball tournament. Regardless of the two games played in the first and second rounds, the four regional hosts – Villanova, Purdue, and Oregon State in addition to Coach Anthony Grant's Crimson Tide, will head to New York for the championship rounds.

First and second round games are Nov. 9 and Nov. 11 and the championship rounds in Madison Square Garden are Nov. 15 and Nov. 16.

Joining the host teams in the tournament are Bucknell, Hofstra, Marshall, New Mexico State, Niagara, South Dakota State, Northern New Mexico, UDC, and West Alabama.

Bama will host South Dakota State on Nov. 9 in a game televised by ESPNU and West Alabama on Nov. 11. First and second round games do not affect the teams to play in New York.

In New York, the Tide's semifinals game against Oregon State on Nov. 15 will be televised by ESPN2 (as will the Villanova-Purdue game). The Nov. 16 finals will have the consolation game on ESPNU and the championship game will follow on ESPN2.
