A ‘Bama look-back: The week that was

This new feature will enable subscribers the chance to catch-up every Thursday on all the latest happenings in Alabama recruiting. The first installment is surrounded by Derrick Henry's decision and an unfortunate scenario with a current Tide commitment.

In between a 40-7 win over Florida Atlantic and the SEC home-opener against Ole Miss, plenty has gone on in Alabama recruiting. We take a brief look at all the latest from last Thursday to this Thursday in this week's "‘Bama look-back."

The good

  • Five-star running back prospect Derrick Henry is ready to announce between Alabama and Tennessee on Friday afternoon. The Crimson Tide has led for a while despite the Vols making a strong push over the last month or so. Many have wondered whether or not Henry's decision will impact current RB commit Tyren Jones and/or Altee Tenpenny. Each has already spoken about taking additional visits elsewhere regardless of Henry's choice.

  • Current Virginia Tech commit Holland Fisher will be taking an official visit to Tuscaloosa this weekend. Several other big names will be on campus as well including several commits and top uncommitted prospects with Alabama offers like underclassmen Racean Thomas, Rico McGraw and E.J. Moss. For a full list, check out our running thread HERE.

  • The No. 2 wide receiver in the class of 2013, Robert Foster, has placed Alabama in his top three along with Pittsburgh and Ohio State. He isn't expected to make a decision any time soon.

  • Four-star Kendell Beckwith has Alabama near the top of his list as well, though the hometown LSU Tigers will be tough to beat.

  • Alabama commit Grant Hill has been invited to the Under-Armour All-American game in January, and he accepted the invite on Thursday.

  • Alabama commit Tyren Jones was presented his U.S. Army All-American game jersey. The game is in January.

    The not so good

  • Alabama commit Deon Johnson was arrested for the second time this month on a first-degree rape charge. Tuesday's arrest has many doubting that Nick Saban and company will honor the scholarship offer originally presented to Johnson. With many factors and a court date still to be determined, we may not know the answer on his legal or commit status for some time.

  • Alabama commit Bradley Bozeman had surgery on his torn ACL on Tuesday afternoon, effectively ending his senior season. The good news is that he is not feeling any pain and is already two weeks ahead of schedule in his rehab.

  • Alabama commit O.J. Howard reportedly injured his knee over the weekend. He is expected to miss some time, but his season is said not to be in jeopardy.
